Looking to book either Leahys farm or Fota. Has anyone been to either santa experience for some feedback?

    Absolute rip off.

Fota is very expensive. Nice enough the two times we went but not value for money in my view anyway.

I think Truckermal was saying he might tell the kids about the whole Santa situation since Fota sucked so much magic out of it anyway. That's how I read it anyway.

Thought fota was crap last year but I put it down to the fact we were there the year before and the novelty wore off. I see here that might not have been the case, either way won't be going back this year and I would not recommend it.

Fota was a massive disappointment. Very expensive and not as good as the previous year. Not bringing them this year. Going to dunnes in town and out for some food instead

put the money saved towards that new Colnago...

Kids enjoyed the Cuskinny 2 years ago (North Pole Experience?)
    Griffins wasn't bad either.

A pox on Fota though. I sent in a big stinker of a complaint, got a stock reply, they hadn't even bothered to read it.

Typical Irish response. We are a useless nation when it comes to making a complaint.

If looking for something worth seeing with the kids over the weekend my lot loved the scarecrows last year in Leap - just past Rosscarberry. Presume on this weekend.

No I ended up going to Dundrum mid week and it was fantastic plus only 16 euro including a toy and picture for my one!

Oh dear, you'll ruin all the commercialism magic of Christmas.

We did Fota two years ago and didn't like it. Felt ushered along and it was so expensive.
But this year we gave it another chance and got a good deal in a sale they had.
It was much better. I'd say due to previous complaints about being too rushed, it was very slow with no rushing and the last room was fantastic and we could have stayed as long as we liked.
It wasn't trying to be too magic. It was simpler and really suited us. The santa was good too and at the start rather than the end which I liked.

We went to Fota this year and absolutely loved it. Even as an adult I thought it was amazing and my nephew loved every moment. The santa was exactly how I imagined santa, especially the voice. My nephew was captivated though I'm not sure he understood the story he was being told (except for the bit where he mentioned icecream)

Went to Blarney, have to credit all the young people working there as elves, very welcoming, polite, had plenty time for the kiddo. Santa was exactly as you'd hope a Santa to be, the only person who seemed to be under pressure or in a rush was the photographer! Present was decent, face painting to occupy the kids while we waited for the photo was a nice touch.

Brilliant, i have booked to go there this weekend. Can you take your own photos with santa?

Did a work related charity gig with a few santas last week. Over a fag, they all held the elves in Blarney in high regard. Apparently they get offered summer jobs on the strength of their elvishness and some permanent staff started out as an elf.

Herdelf has booked Cuskinny again. Might be the last "experience". Oldest is starting to cop

I can endorse that. Brought 2 grandchildren there last Monday and they really enjoyed it. I even enjoyed it myself!

Great, heading there later, would you recommend getting there a little before your allocated time? Some places say an hour or so but I don’t read that anywhere for fota. Thanks

Do, there is a Christmas market to walk around. Mostly it's food stalls but there is a carousel as well and another ride. And there is a little archery stand for the adults that I had way too much fun at. Apparently I have no aim.

Also they will let you take your own pictures and take them for you so you can be in them
