Niabli looked very strong at the Giro dell’ Emilia, probably would've won if not for his team mate out front.

    My money's on him

    I fancy Uran Uran.
He won Milan-Torino yesterday and was 3rd in Giro dell'Emilia last Saturday. He finished in the lead bunch at the Worlds and of course was brilliant at the TdF.
He's finished 3rd in Il Lombardia three times including last year.

Actually been a cracking week or so of races.

There are a few already mentioned who looked in great shape. Yates too looked very good yesterday but not so sure I'd back him ahead of others for tomorrow.

Chavez is out after his nasty fall last weekend.

Tom Demoulin looked to be keeping quite yesterday, maybe saving himself for this?

Dan didn't look bad yesterday either from what they showed of him or I saw. Not sure what shape he's in based on that, was he saving himself too maybe?

Just to note, it's on ES2 at 2:30 for 2 hours.

Also an hour slot on ES1 at 10am looks to be a review of last years race

Yeah they've been running it a few times during the week and highlights of the spring classics too.

This can be watched a little earlier for those with the player, from 13:20

A six man break up the road with 6:50 back to the peloton with around 100km ridden.

No Dan Martin? Only made out Allaphilippe in the peleton when Eurosport went live.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,570 ✭✭✭at1withmyself

Pinot in second is only 12 seconds clear of the bunch so don't think he'll hold in unfortunately

I dont understand BMC...who calls the shots on that team

They have 2 riders at 12th or 13th ...anyway together...same the other day at Emila

Would you not think one would ride for the other...not their own race

Nico may not have had a chance to sprint for the podium but who knows? If not there he had no chance

BMC tactics are incomprehensible to me

Dan Martin was struggling at the back of the bunch when they came up last us just before the hard part on the Surmano climb. Roche was sitting pretty near the front but no joy.

A great day except for the "individual" who tried to kill me with his car when I was passing another rider at 50kph by passing, slowing down amd pushing me towards the ditch. Me banging on the back corner of his car and all. Lucky escape for me and and even luckier escape for him after cos I would have been taken to jail for what I was going to do to him.

Jesus. Two other riders also crashed on that corner.

    http://www.cyclingnews.com/news/bakelants-petilli-martinez-injured-in-crash-into-ravine-off-sormano/
Petilli is being kept under observation at a hospital in Varese, having sustained a concussion and laceration to his forehead as well as contusions to his right shoulder and hip.

Bakelants, according to the report, is the most seriously injured, having sustained back trauma after falling deeper into the ravine than De Plus. He underwent examinations at the Sant'Anna hospital in Como. Sporza reported on Saturday evening that the Belgian suffered five broke ribs and two fractured vertebrae, but was conscious and talking after the crash.

Daniel Martinez (Wilier Triestina) also crashed in the same location and had injuries to his left side.

Hope they are all ok , it looked to be some drop as you could see roofs of houses further on at road level to the side

    Injury updates:
The AG2R La Mondiale squad later confirmed that Bakelants was in stable condition, breathing and moving without assistance and conscious. Team doctor Eric Bouvat said, "After an x-ray and CT scan, the following injuries have been detected: Seven rib fractures, though without any impact on the lungs. A compression-fracture of the first lumbar vertebra and the third lumbar vertebra, the latter of which will require additional examination. An MRI will be carried out tomorrow."

Petilli is being kept under observation at a hospital in Varese, having sustained a concussion and laceration to his forehead as well as contusions to his right shoulder and hip. His team later stated that the 24-year-old suffered a fracture of the right occipital condyle (a fracture in the neck that can be potentially fatal if not discovered), a fracture of the right transverse process of the D1 vertebra, a broken right collarbone and a broken right shoulder blade, in addition to wounds near the right eye."

Factor bikes grow on trees is the cheerful caption required here but seeing De Plus go over there live on TV though was horrifying
