Does anyone have a recommended text to read to understand Irish Law from a novice point of view.

Something that will discuss how a law starts and finally gets signed off and how a precedent could be set.

Something which discusses the role of Judges and Juries and when cases are held in camera, what makes a case indictable and what exactly indictable means. What does a common law offence mean? What differs a common law jurisdiction (UK except Scotland or Ireland) or civil law (Germany).

What are the roles of Judges and barristers and what are the remits of Irish courts. What if you are unhappy with the word of the Judge in the supreme court? Can you take it to Luxembourg to ECJ?
