Just saw another Bright light heading East.
    Verified by other witness.
No formation lights and whilst watching it a proper plane flew under it.

    Anyone else see it?

The ISS doesn't travel in a West-East pattern.
Always in a diagonal flight path.

I know that it wasn't the ISS as I have the app but it looked like it. I looked through binoculars & no sign of navigation lights.

    Yeh,
    Same as I we saw.
Have seen this a few times this year but no-one has a decent explanation.

No one you've asked has provided you with a decent explanation.

Yes it was the ISS. I was watching it myself. The ISS always travel from the West to the East. Not due west to East but from a westerly direction normally towards the east or southeast.

    Hmmm,

What we saw was perfectly West to East and was directly above us.

Yes that was the ISS. It did pass almost straight overhead at about 19:38. Many times the direction appears almost directly west to east. There is a pass tonight that is almost on the same track. Overhead at 20:24. Take a look at this site http://www.heavens-above.com to see the tracks and times.

The strange this is why my ISS app shows the next pass as 8 days time - time to uninstall

Edit: Just discovered that it thinks I am in the middle of the Atlantic

this is an easier website to use, just type in your location and it gives you the times for the next pass over
