Hello everyone looking for around 600 acres to rent preferably in one block but can do parcles of land either in surrounding areas in South East of Wexford.
Will consist of grassland and tillage ground preferably with maps but all options considered for a mixed Dairy, beef, tillage and sheep enterprise.

Land maintained well and confidentiality assured. Top prices paid for land too will be reseeded with grass after contract is up.

This could well be serious White Clover.
There are some big (other) business people in Ireland who love to farm and anything extra from it is a bonus.

However saying that Wexford is a terrible place with useless farmland. Op I wouldn't touch it.

Well i had a previous contract of 600 acres with a fellow farmer before he deceased and the majority of that was suited to zero grazing to supllement the 300 cow dairy herd we are processing milk with and profitablity is also gained from tillage but also we make extra cash in hand from contract rearing and zero grazing.

why would you be contract rearing, when your milking 300 cows and you'd hardly have much of a chance for zero grazing for others either.

most of my customer's are fond of bale's as they are sheep and horse farmer's and the bale's are better feed and more value for money for them. All of the work i do for the sheep and equine farmer's are justifying me having expensive baling equipment it is. While i do baling i also carry out pit silage service (from field-pit) the dairy and beef farmer's like the pit as they would mainly do big cut's of silage but also as the pit is better for feeding and also less labour intensive.
My father who is running the farm,is farming a small herd of cattle, and that is the reason why i do pit! A small no. of acerage in my mind should be situated to bale's but due to the the difference in feed value i notice, i prefer to use pit as i can be done in a few hour's and head onto another customer.Where as bale's would take up 3/4 of the day and maybe even longer with stoppage's for replacing wrap and netting ect.
This result's in me slowing down production and not reaching my maximum output and efficiency resulting in my crew having to work long hour's(long hour's cause's people to get tired and wreckless and not concentrate),therefor not allowing people to work to their full potential.

The above is a quote from a thread called contractor talk. The op has gone from his dad running a small herd while is running a huge contracting business. Fair work to build from a small here of cattle to 300 cows in 3 months.
Go to bed op. There is school tomorrow.
