We have an old grumpy female pug (10) and a rescue male Min Pin (maybe about 5) who was so traumatised from whatever went on in his previous life that he took over six months with a foster family before he was able to be allowed be adopted. We have him three years now.

They have their battles, but generally speaking the Min Pin knows his place, which is below that of the queen pug (along with the rest of us in the house to be honest).

Recently he seems to be piddling in her empty food bowl. It's not every day, just the odd time.

To my untrained eye, it seems like a dominance issue, but could there be any medical reason for it?

hes probably doing it just because he can move it to a higher spot once she has finished

unless he is going excessively in other areas then its a trip to the vets

our cat tom with his rear indicators removed strolls around the kitchen a very clean cat generally but take your eye off him for a minute and he will piss in mollys bed shes our little mixed grill of a dog
