    Hello,
I had an unfortunate event  in a situation of pedestrian vs car in a T-crossroad. Some dude was approaching me from my back, and he was about 20-30m away in the moment when I was about to cross the road. He may or he may not indicated that he'll turn left from main road into a side road that I was going to cross, but for the sake of security I just assumed he'll make a turn. I knew that he saw me. I was on the main lane of the road and  he was cutting my way, therefore - in my book - he should wait for me to cross the road and then move along. There was plenty of time do that. But what he did was to drive in,  almost hitting my ass, lowering the window and yelling at me "Move away idiot!". And there was no zebra marking, if this changes anything. Unless there is a zebra marking, I always tend to position myself far on the right side of pedestrian lane, tightly to the left edge of cycle path, so that I am visible to all the traffic as much as possible.

Here is an illustration of scenario:

Okay, so you're a pedestrian crossing the road. Look left, look right and cross when it is safe to do so. If there is a car approaching and indicating to turn across the road you wish to cross you should wait. I mean that is just simple self preservation!

As for the action of the car almost hitting you. They should absolutely have yielded to a pedestrian, it doesn't matter what the scenario. Whether the pedestrian was right or wrong a car must yield to a pedestrian. They can't go running people over.

Never assume someone has seen you in these situations, especially coming into the darker mornings and evening now.

thanks for common sense tips, but I still do wonder what traffic laws say in such case.

The traffic laws state that any vehicle turning into a road must yield to pedestrians crossing.

Pedestrians crossing at a junction are not obliged to yield for approaching traffic which may turn into the junction (i.e. are indicating). They are only obliged to yield to traffic which is already turning.

I find it's easier to just wait. Whether or not the driver is indicating. A lot only indicate as they start turning.

If you got his number report him to the guards. If it was a small kid crossing and he hit him/her he could have done serious damage
