Not much help probably as I have only been to Krakow, but loved it, highly recommended, would go back.

That's the feedback I am getting. Just expensive the dates I am thinking of

Very fond of Gdansk, but there are not daily flights.
Katowice will do you for Krakow, it's not far away.

In Poland so far I have only been to Gdansk, and recommend it.

Wroclaw was pretty quiet and definitely off the beaten track tourist wise

+1 for Krakow , it gets the tourists for a reason

Pole here, Krakow is overrated. Gdansk, Poznan, Wroclaw much better and less busy places.

Wroclaw great city, nice hard, interesting history. It's pronounced vrotswov 😀

Another recommendation for Krakow, although I heard good things about Gdansk too.

I've been twice to Gdansk, would highly recommend it. I'd love to visit Auschwitz so will plan a trip to Krakow soon!

Gdansk/Sopot/Gydnia is nice to visit but maybe in the warmer months. Sure it'd be Baltic!

Wroclaw and Poznan top my list of places to visit, Torun also is a lovely little place I thought (fly to Bydgoszcz).

Lodz is kind of quirky/hipster place but nothing really to see. Katowice is the place to go for the mountain scenery, excellent hiking there.

Was in Worclaw at the weekend - lovely city, would recommend.

We rented an apartment in the Sky Tower - Irish hotel price for a two roomed apt on the 40th floor, it was a buzz.

while I was there I used a company called Krakow shuttle I think, got transfers from the airport to our hotel for 40euro return for both of us and then used them again for the trip to the camps 80euro a head this time but was pretty much a whole day and they told us they would be outside at 9.05am and we would be back to the hotel at 4.30pm and sure enough at 9.05am the bus pulled up and we got dropped off at 4.30pm.

    brilliant service!
Edit: sorry forgot to say that 80euro a head covered our travel and our tickets into the camps including the fast track lane so no q!

Have stayed in Poznan, Gdynia, Warsaw and Krakow. All very enjoyable. All very good value by Irish standards.

Preferred Gdynia as you can do trips to Sopot, Hel and Gdansk.

If you're into WW2 history you can visit Westerplatte.

Last time we stayed in Gdynia, we did an overnight to Ketrzyn and visited the Wolf's Lair. Train travel is very reasonable.

Anywhere in central Europe is great value. Have just left Brasov in Romania. Eur36 for 7 x craft ciders, 2 x craft beers, 1 rum, 1 cocktail. You can't spend money.

PS would echo what sugarman said - into one airport and out of other. Warsaw to Gdansk by Polskibus, think it was eur10. Took five hours but was comfortable and did not feel that long.

Visited both Krakow and Wroclaw last year. Both were lovely cities, but I did really like Wroclaw; it was a lot less touristy and crowded, and was a beautiful city in general. I'd probably go back to Wroclaw over Krakow, personally.

Warsaw has its charms. Some excellent museums and interesting modern architecture. The 'olde' stuff is mostly rebuilt.

I went to Warsaw in August and enjoyed it. The actual proper city is a bit grey and grim, but lots of cheap bars and stuff to see all the same.

When you walk down the main boulevard and side streets it may seem quiet but step inside anywhere and it should be buzzing.

During the summer months its the opposite with everything happening outside
