They do it in some hospitals for free, I did it in a private place for a 100euro I think, didn't enjoy the umbrella part down the eye

Your GP will do it too.

Think the hospital has a unit for std testing. You could give them a ring and ask.

I've had it done twice in the family planning clinic on Mallow street. You need to ring to make an appointment and they're often quite busy so you might not get one for this week. I'm not sure if you're male or female but for a female they take blood, ask you a few questions- nothing too bad and then have quick look at your privates and take swabs. I'd imagine it's the same for a male. It actually sounds worse than it is, it's all relatively quick and easy.
If you don't get any phone call from them within two weeks you're clear.
It costs in or around the €100 mark, I can't remember exactly.

Op, i googled it for you..

University Hospital Limerick, Dooradoyle, Limerick. Telephone: 061 482382. By appointment only: Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 9am. Thursdays 2pm. How much: Free of charge

Phone them up. There'll prob be a waiting list of several weeks, possibly sooner if you have symptoms. The visit, followup visit and treatment are free of charge. It's also anonymous.

If you need an appointment sooner you should go to a private clinic. The disadvantage is the cost of the initial visit, cost of followup visit if anything is positive, and cost of treatment. It's anonymous, quicker and possibly a better experience than the public clinics.

You can also go to your own gp, but this goes on your medical history and can mess up health insurance, life cover, holiday insurance, etc, if something nasty shows up.

What to expect on the visit. Well they'll talk through your sexual history and practices to decide what tests are needed. As standard there'll be a blood test, urine test (you'll need to hold your urine a few hours beforehand), and maybe a few swabs... throat (guess that's pretty standard), ass (if applicable), and japseye (though usually only if there are symptoms, urine test is usually enough)... even your actual eye if it shows symptoms.

Only other thing to mention are the test windows.. results may not show positive if tested too soon. So if you're worried about a risky encounter from last weekend, get tested for chylmydia and gonnorhea, but get retested a few months later (or as advised by clinic) see https://www.stdcheck.com/blog/how-soon-get-tested-for-stds-unprotected-sex
