Does it only happen when under stress or randomly?

    Tried without the GPU?

If you've more than 1 stick of ram try each individually

If it's an abrupt shutdown without errors or blue screens and you've already ruled out the PSU it would likely be an overheating CPU. The reason it would be fine with an old game is that the CPU isn't being taxed but a modern game is pushing it heavily.

Try running something like Coretemp to monitor desktop and in-game temperatures.

The other potential explanation is that you're using really low quality power supplies which are unable to supply the power required. What's your old PSU, current PSU and the spec of the machine?
