Help with M4A file.

I have a voice memo recorded on my iPhone.
It is 50 minutes long.

I emailed the file to myself in the hope that I would be able to save it to my Windows laptop. It is unfortunately an M4A file.

I tried converting it to MP3 but online conversion tools won't let me.

iTUnes won't accept it for some reason.

Any ideas?

I might just get a normal Andrid phone and leave it beside it recording from the iPhone playing it back and save the resulting MP3 file to my laptop that way.

You should be able to convert it with Audacity, but you need some plugins - ffmpeg and 'lame' mp3 encoder

the simplest solution here would be to install VLC media player, which can handle m4a files. then you can listen to it, without conversion.

is there a reason you want it as mp3?

Simply changing the file name extension to mp4 can sometimes over come the problem -- depending on the cause.
