Hi all, I'm hoping to get some advise. I was thinking of surprising my petrol head OH with a nice car the morning of the wedding. I know his dream car is Aston Martin...but I'm not sure if he can truly get value sitting in passenger seat,
what would be a petrol heads dream car ..sitting in passenger seat. I was thinking of Maserati? Would love car lovers opinion or ideas.

Get two, a Lada estate just for the shock factor.

Then reveal a Lamborghini Hurican for the actual drive.

As someone who is planning a wedding at the moment, I think that this is a really nice idea, but not something that would really float my boat. Given the hundreds of euro you're likely to have to spend to rent an Aston or similar, then to only be a passenger for a short drive. I think I'd rather that money put towards the wedding cost. Or perhaps you could buy him a watch that goes with the suit or something like that.

What Alanstrainor said. Any rental car, unless its a mate, is going to be expensive and very much 'sit here, don't touch that'. Some can really look like rentals too. Top it off, on the day of the wedding, your mind will be elsewhere.

I'd save the cash and see can you get a exotic car tour on the honeymoon (Obviously depending on destination) as it would be better value for money and you could actually enjoy it as a petrol head. If that isn't possible, a day in Mondello would be the same money.

    Its a lovely idea imo!

As others have said, it might be nice to experience it in the drivers seat. Anywhere near a track on the honeymoon? My wife surprised me with a 1hr spin in a genuine boeing simulator while on honeymoon in Paris. (Yeah, I know :o). She went off and had a few glasses of wine. Could be a nice surprise if it's feasible.

I'd say he'd get a great kick out of arriving at the church in something nice.
    Great photo op also.
Sure that's what wedding days are all about, if you can afford it go for it!

I got a Maserati Quattroporte for my wedding from Wedding Cars Ireland.

The fella who was driving was really sound and knowledgeable so had a good conversation with him on the way to the hotel. He wasn't afraid to show us how the accelerator pedal worked either (although he did nearly kill the wife when he took off as she was drinking some bubbly).
