New System - Zoning Problems?

Hi, I recently got a new heating system installed during an extension/renovation.

It is an Ideal Logic 24kw System Boiler with EPH 2 zone motorised valve control kit.
I have Banico Room and cylinder stats, along with a Banico 2 zone Timer Clock - http://www.banicocontrols.com/_PDF/products/technical/1458.pdf

Everything works as such, I have hot water and heating.

The problem I have is that the time clock wont allow me to separate functions.

If I turn the heating on, the hot water automatically comes on and I cannot turn the water off.

I can turn the water on separate but not the heating.

The plumber is saying that everything is working from his end, and the sparks is saying that its wired properly from his end so im stuck in the middle.

    thanks.

Sounds like the programmer has been set to 'Gravity Mode' which would always bring on the hot water with the heating.

    as per setting manual:

Press [SELECT] Button at Main Program Setting Mode to set Program System
Press [UP] or [Down] to select program system.
    LCD display:
    Gravity-fed Hot Water System=PS: G
Fully Pumped and Controlled System=PS: P
Press [SET] button to confirm settings, and back to normal mode.

Would you believe I tried that this afternoon and it’s working perfect now.

Thank you very much for the reply.

Just saw this on the main page,
If I may ask a question.
    I have a similar setup ,
just on the water and heating.
I always pop the water on when I have the rads on, because I can't imagine it's cost anymore to heat the water while heating the rads.
    Or is my thinking wrong?

I don't really need to heat the water all the time as I have solar for water.
But majority of the time will turn the water on also because of my thinking above.
    Any thoughts?

If your heating water it takes energy, energy costs money.

If the cylinder is already hot and well insulated when you turn on the heating, then it won't make much difference, but if it's cold and you don't need the hot water, then it's wasteful.

I understand it takes energy to heat the water if it's cold.
    But For instance ,
if I turn the boiler on for an hour in the evening to heat upstairs and downstairs rads.
The boiler will be going for the full hour.
Will it use more gas if I heat the water while I am at it?
Or will the boiler use the same amount of gas for an hour regardless wether I am heating downstairs on its own or upstairs on it own or all 3 together?
Provided the boiler is going for the full hour.

No such thing as a free lunch I'm afraid.

It's like asking, if I boiler the kettle while running the washing machine will I use more electricity....of course you will.
