Remote central heating question.

    Hi,

I have a normal old style clock type control of my oil central heating.

    On/off and clock timer.

Is it possible to get a unit with a remote controller? I have seen remote units online but they say themostat control.

I am unsure if this is what I need.

I would like a unit on the wall connected where my current programmer is located and a remote unit to turn on and off.

My oil burner heats both the hot water and the radiators, I normally just turn it on at the wall.

I would really appreciate any advice.

    Thanks.

A Salus RT310i will replace the time clock and give you a wireless stat which comes with a stand so you don't even need to wall mount it. You can control your heating threw an app on your phone or use the wireless stat as a remote control for the heating. You will need WiFi for this.

For example, with Hive, your timer would be replaced with a receiver, then a wireless thermostat (which also functions as the controller) would be installed. You would also have the ability then via the Hive Hub to control your heating via a smart phone.

Thanks for the replies. I just want a remote without WiFi though. Is there anything out there?
