Anyone played Seapoint recently. Playing the open there tomorrow, any hints etc

Does any one know what tees it is usually played off??

Usually played off the whites but generally a bit further forward than the white stones.

Cheers for that. I imagine it will still be quite the challenge if the wind picks up as expected tomorrow

Yep and depending on the wind direction it plays quite differently. Very hard to give advice without knowing what way the wind is. But will give you a couple off the top of my head.

1st no need to take driver a hybrid or iron off the tee to lay up before the bunkers will give an iron into the green

2nd par 3 try leave yourself an uphill putt

3rd no need for driver a good 3 wood to short of the bunkers will leave an iron in. Long of the green is dead but there also a valley to the front.

4th long hole will take a good drive and 2nd to get there

5th index 1 but handy off the whites. Aim for the bunkers off the tee and let it fade. I tend to play for Front Edge With 2nd As Water Around Green.

6th par 5. Line over the right hand bunker and the green is reachable in two.

7th anything to far right is dead. Big Green so take enough club to comfortably reach middle/back

8th par 5 not often that it reachable in 2

9th long par 3 but anything over the back and your in trouble

    10th straight forward par 5

11th avoid bunkers off the tee as they quite deep. Green is two tiered and uphill so ensure you have enough club

12th straight forward par 4 there a valley before the green

13th tough hole just try find the fairway off the tee. A bogey is a good result

14th aim for left hand side of the fairway for clear shot to green

15th par 3 not sure what tee they will use,

16th nice par 4 driver and wedge. Aim for front left of the green

17th par 3 generally plays one club more than 15th

18th tough par 5 with risk v reward second. Sometimes I find it easier to go for it with 3 wood as it can be a tough to find an easy lay up.

Only played it once but slightly long left on the second leaves a very tough shot
