    Hi all,
Wired the new house with cat6 all over, Looking at Rj45 connections for second fix.
They seem very cheap online as in 20 for €3, However I have a few of them and went into a known store for eletronics (Cant mention due to Forum rules i assume) and checked the quality, They both seemed the exact same to me, I mean no difference at all yet the store wanted 50c Each.

My question is, Where would you find really quality RJ45's and what would you expect to pay, If my 20 for €3 is normal I'll gladly go ahead as long as theres quality in it.

Note the 20 for €3 are from England, but they prob bought from China.

Quality connections reduce interference. When your cables runs are all under 20 meters, it won't make the slightest difference as long as they are not absolute ****e quality.

Also there is a difference between connectors designed for solid and stranded core cable. I assume your cable in the walls is solid core so you will need connectors suitable for such cable.

+1 to what Navi said, also the note of 'known store for electronics' is prob that type of store which stocks everything but for that service you pay a premium for that handiness. Online is always cheaper as there isn't a store front and doesn't have the Irish 'sure, cost money to ship it to the island' tax.

Will these get plugged into coupler type wall faceplates?

They are for 5e. Cat6 has a larger diameter copper core so these may not work. I suppose it is up to yourself if you don't mind redoing connections.

I have never had a problem terminating cat6 into cat5 termination points. As a rule I use all cat6 stuff but in a pinch have been forced to use cat5 with cat6 cable.
