New model Nissan Qashqai?

My Dad wants to trade in his 142 Nissan Qashqai for a new model (usually changes every 3/4 years). We can't figure out if the 172 model was a facelift model or is the 'new' Qashai?

We can't get a straight answer from the garage and I can't find anything online. He's willing to wait until 182/191 if there's a new model due.

There is an issue with the emissions as they are meant to be 12 times higher then they say they are but this was also found on the Mondeo.

I know not what you looking for but something to consider.

I'd be cautious buying brand new diesels now. Could be worthless in a few years. Tell him to get the new Nissan leaf electric instead or buy 2nd hand diesel.

It's just a midlife facelift of the 2014 model that has been launched recently. There will not be an all new Qashqai for another 3 years I'd say.

He's a keen Qashqai fan. Fundamentally is the 172 model just a facelift or will there be a newer model in the next 12/18 months?

If there's anybody that can help me with this question I'd appreciate it.

I don't see a new complete model for another few Yeats yet as it was as mentioned above already completely changed where now its changed on appearance it should be around for around 3 years or so is my guess.

    Does he need diesel?

As I mentioned they have been found to be extremely polluting

    This is the facelifted model:

There may still be some 172 pre facelift models about. The easiest way to tell the difference is the steering wheel and infotainment system will be different on the facelift model to your father's 142.

    Or try the petrol version.

Good for you but the OP never mentioned what fuel his father was interested in, he was just asking about if the current car is an all new model or not, he could be running the 1.2 converted to lpg but that's irrelevant

The latest Quasqai is a facelift and I think they have done a great job with the interior, the latest steering wheel looks more akin to m-sport BMW than Nissan and the infortainment is a nice improvement. If the op's father changes every three years next time round it's likely the all new model will just be on the market

He didn’t have to mention it , most of them sold are diesel so it would be logical to assume it would be diesel being sought.

Don’t let it bother you though that I mentioned it.
