Qashqai handbrake button trim

Noticed today in our 2015 Qashqai that the top of the handbrake button has come loose (i.e. the "chrome" trim and top black piece - see pic).

The button itself still works fine as these are just plastic bits on top. Both the chrome and the black top piece lift off at the front but are still connected at the back of the button, they are also loose from each other if that makes sense.

Its very hard to get a good view but I assume these are push-fit somehow although I cant get it back so perhaps some tab has broken off.

Anyone seen this before or have detailed pics of how these pieces fit onto the button - dont really want to end up spending €100+ for a new switch if I dont have to.

Good point, hadnt really considered that this might be covered by warranty but I guess it should be. The car is Jan 2015 so we have 3 months :)
