I was out for dinner with my girlfriend. I didn't drink as I was driving and she was sipping her wine and chatting. I told her I wanted to go and hurry up. She lost it with me and told me I'm always rushing her and it's her one glass a week she gets and that I can't stand to be around her for a few min while she finished. I told her I didn't mean like that I juts wanted to go. She said have we reached that stage in our relationship where we can't even sit and chat after dinner why the rush.
Now I'm wondering was I we wrong to say anything

There's not a lot of detail here so it is hard to judge. But if you aren't giving her a lot of time to finish up her glass of wine and next thing you're telling her hurry up and leave, I can understand why she got annoyed. Why did you want to go? Was there a rush? Were you bored? It's certainly giving the impression that you're not valuing your time together. And it does come across as a bit controlling.
I'd like to know more though.

Yeah without much information it's hard to advise. But the fact that you mention you weren't drinking, and then told your gf to hurry up sounds like you were annoyed that you weren't drinking and had no interest in sitting around after the meal to relax with her without a drink.

If you had been having a drink yourself would you have been in a rush home? Was there a reason you needed to leave?

Well it seems you were just there for the food and she was there for the entire experience. I'd think it's rude to tell someone to finish if you've nothing in particular to rush home for, fine if you have to be somewhere else soon and she's dragging her feet but if its a relaxing date night you were wrong.

So many people seem to get agitated after food is done in meals, particularly if the waiting staff are slow bringing the bill, I never get it, its bad etiquette.

So she's enjoying her date, your company and a glass of wine and you turn around and tell her you've somewhere better to be... yea that's pretty rude.
