7 week old silage bales

    I made some silage 1st week of August, 1st cut, cut and baled dry, about 24hrs on the ground.
    I'm wondering how long before it's good for feeding, grass getting tight...

    You can feed them at any time. We have fed bales only a few days old and it's fine, but the fresher they are the faster you need to get them eaten after opening.

    7 weeks is piles they will be well ready for use. We opened bales at a month this week. They are a little fresh but cattle mad for them. They say if you can give them 6 weeks to do that so you're bang on
