Time to choose a new car for 2018.

Whittled it down to the following.

E Class 220d AMG Line with Night Pack. (194 BHP)
520d SE with upgraded 19" wheels and fog lights. M Sport not possible
    A5 SB 2.0 TDI 190 S Line S tronic with upgraded 19" wheels.
    F-Pace R-Sport 20d Auto AWD 180ps

Had considered these too but interest has now waned.
    Q5 190 DSG S Line + minor extras
GLC 250d AMG Line + extras
    GLC Coupe 250d
    XC60 D4 R Design
    XF 20d
    Arteon 2.0 TDI R Line 190 DSG + extras

The E Class doesn't need much in extras for me, it comes with nice 19" wheels and looks good. The E Class is a lot of car and great value. But not sure about the image it presents. AMG Lines does make it more appealing though.

The 502d SE needs extras, bigger wheels, lumbar, seats, audio, fog lights. Nice Pro Nav though. BMW needs to be M Sport but alas not possible in budget.

The A5 S Line also needs extras. Needs Comfort and Technology Pack and 19" wheels. But this puts it way over €60k. S Line looks cool. All the nice things are extra though.

F-Pace, great looks and I'd like an SUV for a change. But noisy engine, Q5 has better engine and performance.

Which would you rather have? Looks, performance, specification.

All of your contenders are 2.0 diesels of similar power, so I guess will ave similar performance.
The Audi would obviously be smaller than the BMW and merc and I guess less comfortable in its ride in s line firm unless you select regular suspension. I read that merc are improving the spec for 2018 and e class on amg wheels looks better than se 520d bmw.
If you do lot of longer distance driving I think you would appreciate comfort of bmw or merc more.
Also bear in mind bmw will probably respond to Mercedes improved spec for 2018 so maybe wait and see if they do something as offers for 2018 will I'm sure be advertised imminently.
F pace wouldn't appeal unless you want an SUV. Interior is low rent and engine unrefined.
