    Hello Everyone,

Hope someone can quickly point out but what is the difference between ground beams & strip foundations - I'm assuming the concrete poured between pad foundations connecting the pads are known as ground beams and where there are no pads they these are the strips - that simple?

    Thanks.

    Yes, you are correct.

Strip footings are the preferred choice if possible, they are less expensive because they just have cheap mesh reinforcement. Ground beams are used where you have to bridge or keep load away from something, like a sewer or adjacent structure.

If the ground is very poor, you might have ground beams on a piled foundation.
