Updating from Alcatel idol 4 to Moto g5s plus

    Probably made a balls of this but here's what I've done so far.

    Alcatel Idol 4 - marshmallow with SD card as internal storage.

    Moto g5s plus - nougat

    Wasn't interested​ in any other apps than Viber, WhatsApp and my test messages. I backed those up and managed to copy across ok.

    However when I inserted the SD card from the old phone into the new phone I got a message saying, unsupported sd card.

    Do I need to copy everything off it and then reformat?

    I got there in the end, just need to copy files off my SD card, format it as a portable device and then copy whatever I need back onto it.
