Retile Shower

    Hi,
Looking to get an estimated cost to re-tile a shower in an ensuite.
I plan on buying the tiles myself and getting someone to remove the existing tiles, and re-tile, and refit the shower door. It is only the shower area, not the rest of the room.
They will need to take away the old tiles aswell. I don't plan on removing the existing tiles myself to save money- just want to pay someone to complete the job.

I have no ideas of costs for this sort of stuff and never know if i'm being ripped off.
Not looking for the cheap job by any means, just want a general idea before i start looking for quotes

    In Cork area

You mind bet offer refitting the tray itself too. This way you can put on a at clasi seal

This is the thing, no idea if that would be needed- or being suggested to hike up the price.
I want to trust the professionals, and fixing now what a less professional did in the past.

I'm seeing quotes €15 to €20 per Sq meter for tiling, but if is that just tiling, not moving old resealing, refit door. Should I be allowing more for that

Can it ask why you are getting this job done?
    Is there a leak somewhere?

The price for tiling is not relative here,The walls for tiling might have to be made good after the tiles are removed. this is the potential hidden cost.
sealux seal, sealux silicone, bal tanking kit plus labour 400 to 500

Tiles are coming off the wall, good 2006 job!, tiles straight onto bare wall, no waterproofing. No leaks (yet), but can only assume matter of time.

Would imagine plasterboard will need replacing as you suggest.
So €400 to €500 for labour (seems reasonable)
    Sealant/tanking kit €?
Tiles - up to me depending on choice

The walls were probally not primed ,i will be no bother take off the tiles.Fitting a tanking kit is is a better job.Shower tray should be completely coverrd and protected while removing the tiles.
