Does anyone know where I can get a Mercedes-Benz 500 SEL in Ireland? Are they good cars? Can't find one anywhere, except the driveway of a neighbour, who says that he has had it a while.

Can anyone give me advice on this car?

    Several on donedeal.

You are clearly not suited to owning this caliber of vehicle.

Can I suggest you purchase something from the Fisher Price ‘My first Troll Wagon’ range?

    Suits you, sir.

Don’t like the colour? No problem.

    Older? No problem.

    Newer ‘n’ Nordernerer?

If you can’t figure that simple stuff out, an older SEL will RUIN YOU or you will RUIN IT. Don’t do that. Buy yourself a corrolla or a bus ticket instead.

That particular model was never a good looking Mercedes not even in its heyday. Its successor was worse.

If you were any closer I’d give you a schlepp in the jowls with the back if my driving gloves and a swift boot up the hole for good measure.

The W126 500 SEL was, is and forever will be a stunner of an automobile.

    You little peasant.

    ;)

What about the s280, the notoriously unsafe one that Diana died in?

It obviously then isn't any good, but are they available?

Yeah, you should definitely buy one of those. Perfect choice.

Now had you said w108/9 or even w116, yes, but for me the 126 was always blandness carpersonified. It was Helmut Kohl's state limousine and there couldn't have been a more fitting car for him. For me it always represented boring stuffy white-bread 80ies christian conservative Germany like no other car did. I was kid car enthusiast then and I was 7 series all the way.

I'd say he needs a fun car to learn to drive in.

The car Diana died in was a W140 not a 126.
