I've a good bit of timber to cut at the minute and will probably have going forward. Most of it I'll be doing on my own. I have an old Timber yoke for stacking Timber up on but tis no good really as the Timber is always hopping around on it. Looking to get a decent log holder. Has anyone picked one up recently that's they'd recommend.

I saw this one on donedeal and I thought it looked like a good job and decent value.

I bought one. Marvellous yoke . If you had the luxury of a helper to be getting sticks out of the pile and positioning gthem in it so you don't have to put down the chainsaw you'd cut a ferocious amount of stuff in a short time.

The Kavanagh log clamper is the original of these and best by far. On DoneDeal from a lad in Carlow. The others copied his original idea. Will last a lifetime.

Yes I bought one from there a few years ago. It's a very good job. No issues

Thanks - It looks like a great yoke alright. Very clever design. Just not the job for me at the minute. I have a lot of small aul branches and I want something that I can pile a few of them up together and get through them.

made up one out of 3x4's and a rachet strap. takes a while to load it but when its full it takes 2 tanks to cut it all...

    Hi JMRC,

Would love to see a pic and or dimensions for this, would be interested in seeing one or maybe even having a go at making up one like that! TIA

Ditto..... A pic would be great if you didn't mind jmrc.

I have plenty of timber around so would put one together myself if I thought it would do the job. What I really liked about the one I linked above is the spring to keep the timber good and tight as you cut it. I do love the idea of one though that you could pile a huge hape of sticks on

think of it like turning a stool up-side down and loading in all the sticks into the legs. keep in mind the length of your chainsaw bar and make i that width. load in all the sticks keeping it well packed and balanced. once full put a rachet strap in between the legs and tighten the be-jesus out of it.
when sawing dont cut the strap and try move around the "load" so as not to topple the stool. after a couple of runs you will make improvement.
