Recommend a shaving brush (from shaving.ie)

So my trusty Muhle brush (badger) is showing signs of aging (10 years on the go) and I am looking for any excuse to buy a new brush

I plan to buy from shaving.ie as usual so can anyone recommend a particular brush from their selection? I have no preference between bristle type, it's quality I'm looking for over anything else.

Of the selection there I would look at HL Thater or Simpsons. If the cost of those is an issue I'd say you could get a quality brush at a lower price elsewhere. They have a couple generic brushes which look like they get good reviews.

I would definitely avoid another Muhle, very pretty but the quality of their knots won't hold a candle to the others mentioned.

How much did you want to spend?

Some food for thought -

There's a Chinese guy doing a brand called 'Maseto' and for next to nothing you can get an outstanding 30mm Two Band Badger brush which will stand up to the best of them... I know because I own quite a few Rooney, M&F, Shavemac, Simpsons etc.

Have a look on atgshaving.com for more info. There has been the odd person that has received a shedder, but that happens with the best brands too.

I have 3 Maseto brushes and they're are all excellent. The two band gives a lot more firmness and a little scrub, great for exfoliating.

If you still want to shop relatively local.. then look for a Simpson Duke 2 in Best is an outstanding brush.

I'd be willing to go to €80 and funnily enough I was looking at the Simpson Duke 2.

I'll check out that guy's Maseto brand out of interest.
