To celebrate the 50th Birthday of BBC Radio 1, a pop up digital radio station launches tomorrow at 6AM and will run for 3 days. Too many memories to mention but this should give you a feel....

Believe it or not, this is the first time I've ever listened to Pete Tong. I was never a raver.

Brilliant John Peel documentary. I'd forgotten about him playing the records at the wrong speed.
    There's hope for D'Arcy yet.

well done BBC. Fair play to them for archiving shows ...have RTE a similar programme archive?

You could stick D'Arcy in a studio co-presenting with Gay Byrne, DLT and Casey Casem, produced by Johnny Beerling and he still wouldn't have a hope!

RTÉ have one, yes, and it's out beside TV3 of all places. The Irish Times ran a piece about it a while ago; I'll see if I can find a link for it tomorrow.

Thought any sound archives would be kept at the radio centre??

Their physical TV archive is kept in Sandyford

Johnnie Walker's show is pretty much a regular Johnnie Walker show. Ledge!
