Treats for dog with Pancreatitis

    Hi All.
My husky was recently diagnosed with pancreatitis. I have changed her diet and she is doing really good now. I have stopped giving her treats altogether and she gets extra play time instead and raw carrots which she loves but mostly plays with instead of eating.
We are very close and as I work from home we spend a lot of time together. I am going away for work soon and will be away for 10 days. During this time my brother will look after her. He is great with her but she spends more time alone when he is minding her. She doesn't mind it and doesn't suffer from seperation anxiety at all but she does miss me a lot. The only problem when I am away is that she doesn't eat dinner unless she is starving... maybe every second day she will eat a bit.
My brother used to give her the kong toy with peanut butter when he had to leave her and this was a special treat that she loved off him.. she is very clever and knows what to expect.
He is wondering if there is anything that he can give her in the kong instead of peanut butter. I am guessing that she cannot have the peanut butter because of the high fat content... she also used to love coconut oil and Manuka honey but both are off the menu now.
Has anybody any ideas of treats that he can give her that would be safe with the pancreatitis?

The only thing I ever used in Kongs was the dogs regular kibble in the bottom, high quality wet dog food on top and freeze for a few hours.

My two don't suffer from anything but they don't like peanut butter so I had to find something else for the kongs. I blend some kibble soaked in hot water with sardines for the top and bottom of the kong and mix the rest of the sardines through regular unsoaked kibble, into the freezer for a couple of hours and they go wild for it! Bit smelly but we can get over that :D

I used to give her sardines a few times a week but had stopped as I was worried they might be high in fat. When she was diagnosed I forgot to ask the vet what was ok and what was not so I just didn't give her anything!
I like the idea of low fat yogurt so will see if she will eat it. If I put in her normal food she won't eat it!

    Slow cooked sweet potato?
    Dried apple slices?
Rice cakes - taste like cardboard :D my dogs think cos they're crunchy theyre a treat!
Those dried fish jerky type treats - are low fat, but cant remember the brand?
There are some recipes online to make low-fat-dog-biscuits, have a look

You could try a bit of liver in it, mixed with the food.

My girls love blended liver mixed with leftover brown rice or oatmeal, cooked at a low temperature in the oven or slow cooker.

I bite their rice cakes, and make "nom nom" noises :D and pretend they cant have them til Im done munching  they go bonkers for one! If I dont do the drama, and just dropped a bit onto the floor, they'd just walk past it - obviously doesnt smell like food! (I totally dont see the point of rice cakes myself!!)
