    Really need advice here.

I have gone back to work part time and have my kids looked after by a minder that I know shes one of the mams at school.

This is the breakdown of days and times.

    2 children aged 4 and 6

monday she collects youngest child from school and looks after him for one hour

tuesday (morning) she looks after both children for one hour in the morning and brings them both to school. (afternoon) she collects youngest and looks after for one hour then collects older child and minds them both for another hour and 3/4

wednesday (afternoon) she collects youngest and looks after for one hour then collects older child and minds them both for another 2 hours and 15 minutes

how much should i be paying her?

This kind of depends on a few things....
    1. Is your childminder expected to be available (to collect early in case of an emergency, sickness etc.) on any of the days?
    2. How far does she have to travel from where your children are being minded to collect your children from school? How does she make this journey?
    3. Is the childminder required to provide any food (snacks, meals etc.)?
    4. Is the childminder properly vetted to carry out the job? - i.e. is she registered with her local county's childminding association?

It's kind of difficult to say what would be a fair figure both for you to pay and her to receive for the service she is providing.

    thanks for the reply

she has to travel about 2km to collect them the school is very close. and when she collects my youngest she is also collecting her youngest at that time. on the two days she collects my eldest she is going specifically just to get her.

she is not on call if they are ill etc, my mother would be the one to do that

she gives them a pack of crisps/popcorn etc
she is not vetted or registered.

I have been giving her 75 euro but im not sure is it too much or what. I suppose I cant really give her less now that we are a month in. Just wondering have I done the wrong amount.

    You're welcome :)
I counted about 8 hours of actual childminding or so there over the three days, I'd say that €75 is reasonable from both sides.
Do you know how it works if you want/need to take time off or if for any reason she doesn't need you on a certain day(s)? It's just better to have that agreed upon so there's no crossed wires in the future.
A good childminder is worth his/her weight in gold, if she wasn't happy with the payment figure I'm sure she'd have mentioned it by now.

i think the op was asking is it to much, not the child minder being unhappy with the amount, but it seems cheap enough to me.

I know, that's why I also said I thought the amount was reasonable ;)

I was going to say 70 after adding up all the individual hours and the drops and collections.
    I think 75 is fine,
