    Hi,

I have Eir broadband, Eir TV & landline. To distribute the TV around my house from the broadband termination point to my living room, Eir installed some of their own proprietary powerline adaptors. This works fine for distributing the eir TV channels to my tv internally (well if you think about 90% uptime is fine but anyways.....i digress).

I was wondering if it would be possible to connect 3rd party powerline Wi-Fi extenders such as these http://uk.tp-link.com/products/list-18.html, or others, to the Eir tv powerline transmitter, over my in house power sockets, so that I could easily extend Wi-Fi around my house???

I.e. Is there any (straightforward) way to configure a tp link power line adaptor, or other, to communicate with the Eir tv powerline adaptor and using this extend WiFi around the house??

Perhaps Eir provide a wifi extending powerline adaptor themselves for this purpose???

Thanks for all replies and info.

Daithi7 - yes you can use other power line adaptors with the Devolo units from eir. i am using a set of  TP-LINK pass through plugs in my home Eir also provide a TP-Link Wifi adaptor home plug which will also act as a wireless access point where plugged in. See sales or retention team to get the TP Link home plugs.
