    People often disagree with me on this, but I think you need to spread your bets and not pick an agency or two to go with. Their job is not to find you a job, but to fill a role for the company. That said, some agencies are better than others in general and for certain industries, so you can at least narrow it down if you give more detail.

    Could depend on what industry you want to enter as some agencies specialise while others might be more generalist and cover a range of industries. That might be worth investigating but generally the bigger agencies are generalists with teams looking after certain industries.

    Your best bet overall would be to send your CV to a number of different recruiters to increase your options.

    For what it's worth I had good experience dealing with Hays when I was looking for a job and found them to be the best of those I dealt with.
