1 month to be connected to eir in a fibre-ready area

    Hi.

The short of it is I ordered eFibre/bundle on the 9. September after carefully checking via the fibre rollout website (or maybe it was eir's own website) that I could get fibre into the property here in Dublin 6.

An initial install date of 19.Sep was changed to 22.September without informing me. I only found out about the changed date when I chased up with eir.

On the 22nd the tech showed up. Unfortunately he was unable to do anything at all as "a replacement cable for the existing phone line going across the street needs to be installed".

I was a bit surprised at that. Is it not unreasonable to expect that eir should know what works are required to get fibre installed to a house in a "fibre ready" area? What was the point of sending the tech out and wasting everyones time if he couldn't do anything?

The forecast date for the next installation is the 3rd October. Unfortunately at this point I have 0 confidence in eir that the necessary works to get this property connected to fibre will be completed on that date.

Am I wasting my time with eir?

Is one month a reasonable time to have a fibre connection completed in a "fibre-ready" area?
Is it not deceptive, misleading and false to state that an area is "fibre ready" if it takes 1 month to do the necessary work?

I have tried working thru eir live chat support but I seem to be unable to get to the right section or to have the chat escalated or transferred to the right section or even get supplied a relevant email address. As In deaf I find the live chat pretty useful - email would be useful too.
