Looking for a simple wifi on/off timer for the boiler

I've read up on nest, hive, netatmo etc. and although they are undoubtedly good devices, I don't think I need a thermostat and the whole learning your schedule thing. I just want to be able to turn on the heating when I'm on my way home from work. As I work shifts, my hours vary so I'm never sure exactly when I'm home. My current set up is a glow-worm gas boiler, 2 bed apartment, no thermostat, and a manual valve for choosing either rads or just hot water. Is there a simple device that can be recommended? Thanks.

The 2 most straight forward and probably cheapest options are EPH ember controls available from nearly every electrical and plumbing wholesalers and Salus controls you can get from aquatech in Cork probably other suppliers as well. I personally have the Salus control RT301i, found it cheaper than ember and very easy to set up and control.

That’s a plug. If the existing timer on the boiler could be used with it, it would be perfect. But it can’t be plugged into it?

I don't know how the wiring goes on your boiler, but I had no bother doing it on mine.
On any system, it should be a simple job of wiring it to control the heating motorized valve.
