Universal Account Number

I am looking for help in locating the universal account number for a phone line for an apartment. Where best to start looking?

Basically a tenant of mine has just moved in and is looking to set up broadband. The service provider they are talking to are requesting the universal account number.

I do not know what it is and have never had an account for the phone line in the apartment. The previous tenants did not have an account set up.

    Any help would be appreciated.

This is sky being dopes I assume? They don't need it for a new service, if they can't deal with that tell them to chose another provider.

ED E is totally right. The UAN is not needed for a new service. However, if you had the telephone number of the line going into the house this would help. You can find the number by plugging in a phone and dialing your mobile.

They should be able to locate the line through the address too. Do you mind me asking, who the service provider that your tenant is thinking of going with?

Yes the new tenants are looking to sign up with Sky. It appears now that the most recent tenants did in fact have a broadband account through the phone line with Vodafone, and I am making efforts with them to see if we can find the UAN.

Sky should be able to locate the line with the address or Eircode. They can then request that the line be cancelled by the exiting provider and then provide Broadband on it.

Also I wouldn't recommend Sky for Broadband. Their customer service leaves a lot to be desired.
