Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Drainage

    Hi,

    live on 4 acres at the base of hill which has very poor drainage.

    takes 2 to 3 days for surface water to evaporate or drain down into the soil and the ground to be some bit firm.

    Was thinking of digging drains, laying perforated pipe and crush rock on top

    Is this my best option

    I'm not sure crushed rock is the ideal product here. I'm no expert but on any drainage we do we use washed stone (no fine particles of sand/grit) to surround the drainage pipe. Ideally you should put a membrane around the outside of the trench and on top of the clean stone. This keeps fine dirt out of your trench and stops it clogging the drainage pipes. if fine dirt gets in, it will eventually clog the small holes in the pipe and decreases the effectiveness of the system.
