She wasn't a comedian or in a comedy show?

One of the great qualities of Corrie in its glory days was that it could be extremely funny, and Vera was one of the funniest.

As a child of the 80s, and as a son of someone who was a Corrie addict, she was a constant feature on our TV.

A true lady by all accounts, any documentary I ever seen featuring the cast of the soap always held her in a very high regard.

    RIP Vera

Vera and Jack Duckworth were a fantastically written fictitious couple. RIP.

She was one of my favourites in Corrie. It wasn't the same without her and Bill Tarmey.

Vera Duckworth and Deirdre Barlow were a fictitious non-couple on Corrie too. RIP

I can imagine poor Jack when he sees her walking through the pearly gates - "Flamin' 'eck, not again!"

They were a thing of their time. Nobody nowadays has a bandaid on their spectacles or curlers in their hair.

Vera probably had the strongest Northern English accent in recorded history.

Jack and Vera were great TV. She will be missed.

Ah come on man. That's all you say? No rip... Nothing else. Just trying to correct something?

    Pssh.

Used to watch Corrie regular but haven't watched it (bar the odd Christmas episode) since Jack died really.

The producers have ruined it but anyway, these two scenes stick out in my memory.

    RIP.
