Heanet are supposed to have provided up to 1gb/s internet to colleges across the country but the internet here at NUIG is disgracefully bad. Doesn't seem like wifi deadspots either - has to be an unreliable server because it's not even linked to amount of users on the system- 10pm in the reading room on a Friday and it was still ****e.

Fwiw running with a new laptop with A/C/N wifi bands.

HEAnet provide 2x 10Gbps links actually.

I've found the eduroam network on campus to be very good. This could also be your own device issue as not all network cards are equal. I'd recommend logging a ticket with ISS as I haven't heard any complaints either.

Saw a load of people in library today with phones hooked up - seems like internet was completely down. Lecturer couldn't even play a youtube video the other day as the connection was so bad. Way worse than 4g.

Have used a few devices. Eduroam and NUIG wifi are the same speed for me.

ISS have made changes to eduroam so you need to run eduroam CAT in order to get connected. An email was sent out a few weeks back to give people time but clearly not everyone did it, hence the queues.

If you're finding particular issues then it's best to log a ticket as there's nothing anyone here can do about it, nor can they do anything if they're not told.
