I've seen some refer to Vodafone Fibre based services having a data cap of 1000 GB. I've seen 300GB in older posts- perhaps it depends on the product/service that you have.

They always seems to refer to the Fair Usage Policy being detailed in their T's & C's but I can't find a specific reference to a cap on a brief googling.

There are quite a number of posts around Eir capping fibre services at 1000GB, over which level of usage they charge you up to a max of an extra €100 per month. I don't know if Vodafone are so hard on such limits being exceeded.

If you search around the Broadband forum here you will see many previous posts on the question of caps and FUP etc, which will advise you on those companies for whom the word 'unlimited' truly means UNLIMITED, and not some lawyer-speak for something else.

    Hi

Vodafone do have a 1tb per month limit (I'm on their FTTC plan). Haven't gone over it myself yet so can't tell you if it is enforced. However, I used to be on a different plan with them a couple of years ago and one month I did go over whatever FUP it had and I was charged for the excess usage.

AFAIK, Virgin are the only national provider who offer true unlimited usage. Hoping to move to them in the coming weeks as their cables have now been installed on our street.

    Sky are also totally unlimited.

I ordered Vodafone broadband today. Asked if they had a fup and the salesperson told me it was gone.

It was also specified in the following email that there is no fup.

Interesting, I just had a look at Vodafone's website and all previous references to having a 1gb fair usage policy seems to be gone on both fibre broadband and their FTTH offerings.

Hopefully Eir take note and follow them

Don't think so. From the Gigabit Broadband section of https://n.vodafone.ie/terms/fixed.html
    FAIR USAGE

    15. The fair usage cap for data usage on the Gigabit Broadband Service is 1000 GB over the course of any given billable month. If you exceed the fair usage cap for data on more than two (2) occasions in any calendar year then Vodafone may terminate or suspend your Gigabit Broadband Service. Vodafone will proactively contact you in advance of any suspension or termination.

strange that it states it there in the terms and conditions but all other references to it are gone, perhaps they have yet to update those terms and conditions. A poster above claims that the FUP is gone and has it in writing on an email by an employee of Vodafone.

So, I ve made the switch to Vodafone and after 2 people stating there is no FUP, it appears there actually is one, 1000GB. The guy who rang to arrange the switch over confirmed it. Told him what others had said and he said the FUP is still in place but they are not supposed to mention it.

But you have an email from them saying that there is no fup??

The FUP is 1TB but my account page says unlimited.

Their record of my usage is awful, I think it's fully broken. Dates for when I had no service and no details for months I had. Etc.

I don't think they'll act on it. I'm at 6.7GB right now, I think my billing cycle started yesterday, was 700 GB 3 days ago.
