Xiaomi mi a1

Seen this announced and thought it might be best to try and get my hands on one

My xperia z2 landed on its face yesterday and is in pieces, plus with a broken speaker, missing charger cover its not worth fixing

Was a tossup between this and the G5S plus...the former seems to come out on top though

any idea where to pick up one, and when it might get here?

Was thinking of picking up one myself. My M8's battery is really gone bad. There is a list of recommended resellers in the Chinese Smartphones 2 thread. Good thing about the Mi A1 is that it supports the LTE bands here, but no NFC though . Here is what somebody suggested to me in that thread:

Quick question - I bought 2 Mi A1 phones, one for me and one for the missus.
We live in an area with good network coverage and she is getting 4G on hers while I am only getting 3G on mine
Settings are the same on both phones and preferred network type is selected as 4G on both

Anyone any idea why I cannot get 4G but she can?

Do you get 4g elsewhere? May be that you have an old 3g only sim. Or your plan doesn't include 4g and hers does.

got a new nano sim last week to go into it as i had an older sim

I would call Vodafone and double check they have activated 4G on your account. I had that in the past where it was blocked from their end.

I'm constantly losing 4g on Vodafone payg. Happens every few weeks. If you have the my Vodafone app you can use live chat & they'll check your profile straight away. Worth a shot.

Info on European release dates and prices for the Mi A1 in the link, looks like Italy will be the cheapest at €220, hopefully Amazon.it will have good pricing
