Just a quick question, a supplier of mine has not charged me VAT on my last 2 deliveries. I am not vat registered and have told them this before each order. Is it their or my responsibility to get this sorted. thanks

Its not your responsibility. Your not the one vat registered and in the sphere of vat compliance. Is your supplier vat registered? Are the supplies vatable?

Yeah they are VAT registered, UK based, goods are vatable, is there a chance if this continues, that this could bite me at the end of the year and they could come looking for the money.

Technically, this is you effectively reclaiming the VAT. It may only arise as an issue with Revenue if the supplier actually has your tax reference number. But something isn't right and there could be repercussions down the line.

It would be wise to set aside the amount due just in case Revenue come looking for it.

What's the value on the goods. To send VAT free within the EU, both parties need to be VAT registered.

Although I have seen lots of examples of not paying VAT for personal purchases over the years.

Nothing will come of it unless the value is huge.

Each order has been in the region of 600e. I've been factoring the VAT on the sale price so I'm OK for that, I'm just slightly concerned now that revenue could come around asking questions, not that I'm doing anything dodgy, just don't need the hassle.
