Soldering Pvc coated copper

    I've to solder an elbow onto 1/2 inch wicu pipe, how much of the Pvc jacket needs to be stripped back? Anythjng special about soldering this?

    Just cut back as much as you can and clean the copper and solder away.

    Thanks. The joint is going to be close to a wall, so I'm trying not to strip back too much Pvc as it's good protection in the wall. Just trying to avoid a guey mess ;)

    Someone installed it in a concrete floor slab, probably when they moved the kitchen sink from the original location.
