    Is it on this site?
    http://fixmystreet.ie/reports/Galway+City

Otherwise, local council I suppose is first port of call. It may be on their list of stuff to fix already

Thanks. I presume when I ring they will say they : we have no plans to fix it etc etc

Then I'm thinking I have to then contact a local councillor or a TD.

I see they are installing paths across the road from the mart

I find if you report and its seen as a serious defect it usually is rectified quite promptly.

use the phrase "an accident waiting to happen" and they'll at least look at it

Thanks. So correct steps for Joe soap member of public are to contact local county council.

If no joy from them contact local councillor
    and then local TD ?

I may be wrong but I always find sending an email is better than calling them on the phone.
When there's an electronic paper trail they are likely to act faster as I would imagine if someone hurt themselves on the footpath they are in trouble.

Anyone else experiencing a problem trying to email the council? I tried a few different recipients but they all fail...
