Renovation of derelict listed building, where do I get a costing

    Hi all,

    I viewed this house today:

    www.daft.ie -Snip-

The house is a protected structure in the Limerick County Development Plan.

How would I begin to get an estimate for renovation and a rear extension to know if it would fit within my budget (220,000 excluding purchase price)?

The house needs an entire renovation. It has timber floors throughout that are rotten, with just earth underneath. Somebody retiled the roof and replaced the windows about 15 years ago, but the windows are cheap PVC and probably won't be accepted by the conservation officer.

I don't want to waste a lot of money getting full plans drawn up and costed if the renovation will cost more than the 220,000, but who could best tell me that?

    Thanks,

    Ken

Hire a quanity surveyor and get them to walk it with you and prepare a +\- costing
