When buying this machine from Debenhams you run the risk that you are getting a very old machine with the included capsules being expired since 2015.

I got one online, capsules expired in 2016, I went into the store to exchange, their box had capsules expired in 2015.

They might have exchanged the capsules now and offer in date only, but you risk to get a very old model of the machine for that price.

Will it have coffee capsules in the price included? If so how many do you get?

I was talking to the Nespresso engineer in work and asked about life span on pods. His opinion was that as they are sealed the air won't get into them to spoil them.
They should get an additional year past the date.

The Prodigio range only released last year, so I think the risk of there being anything bundled with it that's as out of date as the above is minimal if not non-existent. If, on the other hand, you somehow got that with one of these machines, then to me it suggest something very fishy going on either in Nespresso or Debenhams.

The one I got (Krups) last month (August 2017) had capsules in there that expired on 30 November 2016

I went to the local Debenhams which told me that its not an issue and they would just give me a new machine, they than opened a Maximix with capsules that expired in 2015 followed by another Krups with 2016.

At that point I took a refund.

Afterwards they told me that it is not unusual that they sell old machines and will take steps to ensure that capsules are getting replaced in the machines they still have.

It's still a bargain, just make sure you check the expiry date of the capsules when you get it.

There must be a reason they sell these machines 100€ cheaper than others.

    16 seems a strange number
Do the sleeves not come in 10s?

My Debenhams machine had 14 (see picture above) and my Nespresso direct machine had 16.

They don't come in a sleeve, they are a selection of different types, you can actually see this on the link above if you scroll through the pictures.

Fair enough, but if they opened a Prodigio for the replacement capsules and got ones with a 2015 expiry, there's definitely something dodgy going on there given the release date of the model, and you could buy a model on day one and get old capsules which is hardly Debenhams responsibility.

In the end even if the model is one of the first and the capsules are expired, the price is great (nearly 100€ discount).

All I'm saying is that if you get this machine for this price, please check the capsules for their date before using them.

Seems a great deal as our 8 year old machine is getting longer in the tooth and has sprung a few leaks.

However. A little confused about the machine now.

    In the description it says

Exclusively for Nescafe Dolce Gusto capsules

    ?

Yeah, that error is in there for a long time, it was also there when I ordered it.

The machine itself is nice, the included bluetooth is nice gimmick or a good function (Depending on how you use it).

Its 16 pods, is it really a big deal? You could buy the equivalent in Aldi for €2

If you feel happy to deal with a shop that sells you goods that are beyond their best before date, than nobody is stopping you.

As I said, it's a bargain just be aware that you might get something that is outdated as part of that deal.

They might have now replaced all of the pods and you get only in date pods with that machine, but the machine will also be one of the first models (otherwise how could the pods be outdated).

Think you get a variety pack.
