    Hi lads

DMF on very last legs in my 08 Caddy. She had been a little rough idling for a good while so was probably in the early stages of failure and recently been very rough on start up and gear change and clutch pedal not releasing. Have dropped van to an Indy - any guesstimates on what I should expect - he did talk about changing for SMF but depends on depending on parts availability.

    All info appreciated

    Thanks
    Cupan

800-1000, SMF conversions arent the best but they are a little cheaper

I had a SMF conversion in a Sharan a few years ago.

    Big mistake!
It really felt a lot less refined afterwards, a bit more agricultural and noticeably more vibration.

At that time DMF was £500 more to buy than SMF conversion.

Thanks for the replies lads appreciated. Cost will be king so if he can do the SMF I'll prob go with that.

I wouldn't bother. Clutches that come with the smf don't seem to be great quality. Difference in price now is only around 100 in kits

Thats just the flywheel though, you need new clutch + slave cylinder on top of that, would be some hack job not to change the clutch

I was wondering why it was so cheap.
