How many tolls would I pass traveling from London to Dundalk, and how much do they cost? I'm aware of the one in laois. Will I have to go through the one on the m50? And is there anymore between Dublin an Dundalk?

I having a clue how to get there will be following Sat nav

N18 Limerick Tunnel if you're coming from north of the river Shannon in Limerick city, M7 Portlaoise, M50 Dublin and M1 Dundalk.

You don't have to go through the M50 one, but if you don't know the area I'd strongly advise using it anyway.

Thanks got all the info off those links. Will definitely be using the tolled roads anyway. 3 tolls in under 240kms seems a bit much doesn't it.

You can always avoid the tolls but it will take you longer and you'll probably spend the savings on fuel. It's 240 km of mostly good open road though and the only real headache is the M50 depending on the time you hit it. The price of a couple of Saturday night drinks to get there quicker.

You should see the tolls in other countries, France for instance :O

Prices or the amount of them? I just thought 3 in under 240 is loads. No problem paying then, it's worth it for a faster stress free journey

M1 Toll near Drogheda only cost €1.90. Shir that's grand :-)

Considering the tolls are about 1.90e each it's hardly a massive amount.
Considering that going offline would cost your far more in fuel costs.
Remember if you are using the limerick tunnel that you can't pay by card and need the exact change.. It's ridiculous i know but a heads up.

If you remembered the bad old days before the motorways you'd have a different opinion :)

Jesus lads I said 2 or 3 times now, I've no problem paying the tolls, no problem with the prices either but just that 3 of them in such a short journey is madness.

You could do 4 tolls if you want a go of the limerick tunnel :)

All the tolls are avoidable of course. It's just the journey that you're doing takes a good few in. Limerick to Dublin is only one toll for example.

Both. On some routes the tolls will be more expensive than the fuel.
