New Ford Focuses coming with some extras as standard

I've noticed that the base level Ford Focus (in hatchback form), the Style spec, seem to be all coming with front fog lights and heated windscreens. Looking at the Ford site, fog lights come with the Zetec and the heated windscreen comes with the Titanium. This appears to be in every case so it's highly unlikely that every customer is asking for these as extras in every case.

Anyone in the know have any idea if Ford are throwing these extras in as standard with all new Style Focuses? Hardly EVER have a need for front fog lights but the heated windscreen is fantastic in the autumn to Spring months, especially I live inland and get a lot of frost.

I honestly thought the extras were going to be a bit more exciting than a heated windscreen and foglights.

Whilst there's nothing very exciting about them, they are something not listed in the spec for the Style level so can't really complain. Plus, a heated windscreen is a fantastic thing to have.....why they are not standard in more cars is beyond me.

I heard before that Ford used to have the patent for the heated windscreens but it has run out now so pother manufacturers are offering this handy option now.

Maybe they are included in an upgrade/options pack or something? A dealer would be able to tell you. The Ford.ie website is usually poor at being updated.

The rear manual windows are a nice feature too. You have to go up to the Titanium spec to get rear electric windows as standard.

Ford often do this. The focus is pretty long in the tooth now, I see they've slashed Mondeo prices in the U.K. too.

Heated windscreen may not sound sexy, but its one of the most useful features I've had on any car.

When I was comparing company cars a few years ago, I was surprised at how mean the Ford spec appeared to be surprisingly basic.
