New SSD - want to make it C boot drive

I have an Asus N76V laptop (8GB RAM, Windows 7 Home Edition, 900GB drive, split over C and D).
I installed a Samsung 850 EVO 250GB SSD in the 2nd drive bay and copied contents of C to it using Samsung Data Migration application.

I have assigned the SSD a drive letter of B to make it accessible.
In BIOS I have set the SSD as first boot device, with C drive as second one.

I tried to change the C drive letter to something else (in Disk Management) but it says "The parameter is incorrect."

I guess that this is because the C drive is Boot/Page File/Crash Dump drive.
I changed the paging file to only be on the SSD but this has created a warning about a problem with the paging file configuration.

In msconfig.exe/Boot there is only the "Windows 7 (C:\Windows)" option.

How can I get it to book from the SSD as C:, so that I don't have to go modifying links or registry entries?

So is the system booting from the SSD? Just disable the page file altogether for now and see if that helps anything. And what is the need to have the drive letter as C? Perhaps there are some legacy apps/scripts that would complain, but I would be doubtful of that even.

Tbh, I would just reinstall the OS on the SSD from scratch. It's always a good idea to do so when upgrading to an SSD. I can see why you'd be a bit hesitant, but provided you can install all your software again I think it would be the healthiest option in terms of speed and performance. It would also solve this problem. Maybe solve is the wrong word, circumvent is better!

All the apps are installed on C, that's the main reason.
If I reinstall the OS (I am not sure where from - I'm not sure if I have installation media) I'd have to reapply Service Pack 1 and all the updates. I suppose that is a time thing rather than anything else.

I'll disable the page file to see what happens.

    I installed EasyBCD.
It warned about a configuration issue that may prevent it from working fully.

I told it to change the boot drive from C: to B: and then I rebooted.
I was expecting it to not boot and that I'd have to retreat to the BIOS but it worked great. Boot was much quicker than normal.

Even better, the SSD drive's drive letter had changed to C: and my old C: drive was now F: (because E: is the DVD drive).

    So, happy days!
