Now he has taken to showing us off his muscles. Said to make a lot of money out of this caper and good luck to him.
    Hope he does well.
Someone once said Davy FitzGerald would walk barefooted over glass just to be in front of a camera. Rio is going to other extremes.

He wears shoes and avoids publicity?

The whole thing is just a bookmaker's publicity stunt.

No, it was Rio himself who broke the news...but so far he hasn't applied for a license from the British boxing board....
he's definitely fit enough to have a crack...it's his punch resistance that may be his downfall......
but a young widowed father with time on his hands, why not have a go at another sport he seems to love?

Nothing like a good dose of CTE when you're approaching 40.

It's the smart move when you're 3 young children's only legal guardian.

Oh well, give me an easy life and a peaceful death.

He's not the first footballer to take up boxing, Stan Collymore gave it a go too.

Curtis Woodhouse has probably been the most successful in crossing over, becoming British champ. He was a decade younger than Rio when he started though.

I find it hard to believe he's doing it for the money. A Rolls Royce of a player at his peak, playing for one of the biggest clubs in the world. Surely he can't be broke?

By all means train and work out to let this supposed 'anger' out, but do you really need to be getting your bell rung in sparring and possibly seriously hurt in a fight?

MOD I have closed the thread as there are sports forums to discuss things like this on boards too.
